Mazda has announced the updates to the 2018 Mazda CX-3 crossover, which gets standard new features, like Smart City Brake Support and G-Vectoring Control.
The Smart City Brake Support system automatically applies the brakes in emergency situations below 19 mph. The Mazda3 and CX-5 also now offer the safety tech. Inside there’s also a new optional Active Driving Display, power driver’s seat and heated steering wheel. The G-Vectoring Control system uses the engine in conjunction with steering and throttle inputs to minutely reduce engine torque, putting more weight on the front wheels and making the steering feel more linear and direct.
Other upgrades to the 2018 CX-3 include, revised suspension bushings, new front lower control arms, re-calibrated dampers and new engine mounts. To make the interior quieter, the 2018 CX-3 gets improved door seals, thicker rear glass and sound suppression mats added underneath the floor and dashboard.
The 2018 CX-3 Sport trim comes with standard cloth seats, power windows, power remote door locks, power mirrors, two USB ports, backup camera, Bluetooth and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Mazda Connect infotainment system features a standard 7-inch, full-color display.
Moving up to the CX-3 Touring you get standard with 18-inch wheels and seats covered in leatherette and Lux Suede. The CX-3 Touring also comes with Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, heated front seats and heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, auto on/off headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers and automatic climate control.
A Touring Preferred Equipment Package for the CX-3 Touring trim level adds escalates a BOSE audio system with seven speakers, power glass moonroof, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio and a cargo cover.
The top level CX-3 Grand Touring adds Parchment or black leather with red accents and Lux Suede upholstery, adaptive LED headlights, LED fog lights, LED daytime running lights, Mazda Navigation, a full-color Active Driving Display head-up unit and paddle shifters.
A GT Premium Package adds CX-3 with Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Smart Brake Support for highway speeds, Lane-Departure Warning, High Beam Control, a 6-way power driver’s seat, power driver’s lumbar support, 2-position driver memory seat, heated steering wheel and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Pricing for the 2018 Mazda CX-3 starts at $20,110.
