Now that Jeep has officially unveiled the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL we’ve been waiting to hear about the price tag that Jeep is going to slap on the all-new Wrangler. Well Car and Driver is reporting that the 2018 Wrangler JL will start at $28,190, which is a pretty big $3100 premium over the 2017 Wrangler JK Sport.

2018 Jeep Wrangler

For $28,190 you’ll get the two-door Wrangler JL Sport, which features the 3.6-liter engine, a six-speed manual transmission, a Dana 30 axle in front and Dana 35 in the rear, part-time four-wheel-drive, manual windows and locks, and 17-inch steel wheels. The 2018 Wrangler JL Sport S starts at $31,390 and adds power windows and locks, air conditioning, power heated mirrors, keyless entry, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

The 2018 Wrangler JL Rubicon starts at $38,190 and adds front and rear Dana 44 axles with 4.10:1 gears and electronic lockers, electronically controlled front sway-bar disconnects, an upgraded transfer case, Rock Rail sliders, different 17-inch aluminum wheels and a few other goodies.

2018 Jeep Wrangler

The four-door Wrangler JL has trashed the Unlimited designation and from here on out will simply be called the Wrangler four-door. The 2018 Wrangler JL four-door Sport starts at $31,690, and the four-door Wrangler Sport S is priced at $34,890. A Sahara trim is only available on the Wrangler four-door and starts at $38,540.

The Wrangler JL four-door Sahara adds body-color fender flares, tubular side steps, unique 18-inch polished and painted aluminum wheels, specific grille accents and headlamp rings, automatic headlamps and a few other upgrades. The Sahara is also the only trim that offers the “set it and forget it” Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel drive system. Pricing for the 2018 Wrangler JL four-door Rubicon starts at $41,690.

We’re still waiting to hear the pricing for the four-cylinder powered Wrangler JL.
