The Honda Civic Type R is easily one of the much anticipated and probably one of the most exciting models to arrive in the coming months, but if you’re disappointed with the mid-$30k price range, here’s something for you. The 2018 Honda Civic Type R may offer a cheaper trim level than the top-spec Touring trim that the 2017 model will only be offered in.

Honda has yet to confirm the report, but Honda fanatic – HondaPro Jason, Honda is going offer a cheaper version than of the 2018 Civic Type R. The cheaper version will likely do away with a lot of the “luxury” features on the Touring trim, but it’s unlikely that it will be any faster.

The Civic Type R is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque, which makes it the fastest, most powerful Honda ever sold in America. Sales of the 2017 Civic Type R will kick off later this spring. We’ll likely have to wait a few months to get any official confirmations about the cheaper version.
