BMW has yet to formally announce the pricing for the 2018 BMW i3 and the sportier i3s, but BMW Blog got its hands on a spec sheet for the 2018 i3 that lists all the pricing details. The base 2018 BMW i3 will start at $44,450, while the more exciting i3s starts at $47,650, if you step up to the range extender models, the i3 price jumps to $48,300 and the i3s will list for $51,500.
For the extra $3,000 price premium, the i3s gets slightly more power with an 184-hp electric motor wth 199 lb-ft. of torque, which is slight upgrade from the 170-hp and 184 lb-ft. of torque in the standard i3. The i3s also rides 10-millimeter lower and has a 40 millimeter wider track. Its 20-inch wheels are also 1/2-inch wider. The “S” also adds a sports suspension with unique springs, dampers and anti-roll bars. Lastly a new Sport mode improves the accelerator response and tightens the steering.
BMW has yet to release this info, but it’s expected to happen soon. You’ll also notice that the 2018 BMW i3 production officially kicks off next month, which means that the first models should start arriving early next year.
