Following the debut of the Q30 hatchback, Infiniti has revealed the crossover version – the QX30. The compact QX30 crossover was previewed initially by a concept version and the production version is pretty much identical.

Set to arrive globally by mid-2016, the 2017 QX30 features “the sleek lines of a coupe with the in-command stance of an all-wheel drive crossover.” It’s low-slung roofline gives the QX30 a profile that is sleek and its commanding seating position will likely help the QX30 find more buyers in the SUV-loving U.S. than the Q30 hatchback.

Inside the interior has been designed to focus on the driver with asymmetric surfaces that feature wave shapes and dynamic lines that twist apart and flow away from the driver. Infiniti says that the shapes give an “in-motion” feel when natural light moves over the highly sculpted lines and contrasting materials in the cabin.

Infiniti has yet to confirm what will power the QX30, but a range of available four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines will generate between 107 and 208 horsepower. In the U.S. the QX30 will likely only be available with a turbocharged 208-hp 2.0L four-cylinder. The four-cylinder will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
