Later today MINI is going to officially unveil the 2014 MINI Cooper, but the first two official photos have already leaked out. Compared to the outgoing Cooper, the 2014 Cooper’s design isn’t a huge departure.
The 2014 MINI Cooper is going to be powered by a range of three and four-cylinder engines. The three-cylinder is a 1.5L with 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft. of torque. The Cooper S will be powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder with 189 horsepower and 206 lb-ft. of torque. A diesel will also be offered with 114 horsepower and 199 lb-ft.
We also know that the new Cooper will be based on BMW’s new UKL1 platform, which will be used for a host of new front-wheel-drive BMW models.
