The 2013 MINI John Cooper Works GP holds the title of the fastest MINI ever built!
The 2013 MINI John Cooper Works GP holds the title of the fastest MINI ever built! MINI is going to officially unveil the John Cooper Works GP later this month at the 2012 Paris Motor Show before sales of the limited-edition model kick off later this year.
The 2013 MINI John Cooper Works GP is powered by a 218 horsepower 1.6L turbocharged engine with 192 lb-ft of torque from just 1,750 rpm. The four-cylinder is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The MINI John Cooper Works GP reaches 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph.
The MINI John Cooper Works GP gets a new suspension that features an individually adjustable coilover suspension, which allows ride height to be lowered by up to 20 millimeters, which means the suspension set-up can be fine-tuned to different circuit conditions whenever the MINI goes out onto the track.
The balance between the engine, the suspension and the aerodynamics was fine-tuned during intensive testing on the Nürburgring North Loop (the old grand prix circuit), where the MINI John Cooper Works GP promptly clocked up a best lap time of 8:23 minutes.
If you want one you better act fast! MINI is only going to produce 2,000 units.
