GM officially unveiled the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this year, but although the high-performance Camaro was unveiled, its official stats were not.
At the time GM only stated that the Camaro ZL1 would put out an estimated 550 horsepower and 550 lb-ft. of torque from its supercharged 6.2L LSA V8. The 6.2L V8 is also found under the hood of the Cadillac CTS-V, where it puts out 556 horsepower. We’re still waiting for GM to unveil the official stats for the Camaro that will go to head to head with Ford’s Shelby GT500, but the newest reports now claim that the ZL1 will put out more than 570 horsepower.
