Saturn has announced the addition of the new Astra to their lineup for 2008. The car is basically a rebadged version of the Open Astra (not sold in the US).
This car will replace the ugly/ poor selling Ion in their lineup. It will be powered by a 1.8L engine with 140 horsepower. The Astra will be offered in three and five-door configurations. It is interesing that they aren’t going to have a sedan version, initially.
The new car looks a lot better than the Ion it is replacing, although the interior still looks very cheap. I would still take this car over the Cobalt/ G5 any day!
The car will be out in the 4th quarter of this year.
