The name Mitsubishi Eclipse brings back memories of a happier time for Mitsubishi – when the automaker offered more noteworthy models and was also actually on buyer’s radar. Today the Eclipse name is gone, but next month the name will reappear on a new model, too bad it’s nothing like the last model it was last used on.
Mitsubishi has announced that it is going to unveil a new crossover next month at the Geneva Motor Show, which will be called the Eclipse Cross. The Eclipse name, which was first used back in 1989 on the sporty Mitsubishi coupe, is now being applied to a new coupe-like crossover.
The new Eclipse Cross will eventually be sold in the U.S., which will likely sadden true Eclipse fans. The Eclipse Cross is going to be revealed on March 7.
