Lexus may finally be ready to introduce a seven-passenger version of the popular Lexus RX crossover. Earlier this year, Lexus confirmed that a three-row Lexus RX is coming and now there are reports that the more family friendly RX could debut later this year at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Japan’s Mag-X is reporting that a longer version of the RX that rides on the same platform as the five-passenger model, is going to debut later this year. The three-row RX will have the same wheelbase as the current model, but a slightly longer rear overhang will give a bigger interior. The rear window will also be moved further back to add more space for a third row of seats.

The three-row Lexus RX will join the larger GX and LX models with their three rows of seats and also give Lexus a rival to models, like the Acura MDX and Volvo XC90.
