Chrysler has introduced the limited-edition Mopar '13 Dart, which is the fourth special-edition Mopar-badged vehicle created since Chrysler partnered with Fiat in 2009. The Mopar 13' Dodge Dart will debut next week at the Chicago Auto Show. Building on the success of the Mopar '10 Challenger, Mopar '11 Charger and the Mopar '12 300, the limited-edition Mopar '13 Dart will be built and customized with Mopar performance parts and accessories. Production for a limited run of 500 units will begin this spring at the company's assembly plant in Belvidere, Ill.
Subcompact cars like the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa and Hyundai Accent are often regarded as practical transportation that is more at home in a college parking lot than on a track. While it's definitely a far stretch to say that the Mazda2 is so sporty that it would be a great car for the track, it definitely brings more fun to the segment than expected. With a base price starting under $15k and only 100 horsepower under the hood, the Mazda2 looks like a bargain basement small car on paper, but as we quickly found out, it's actually one of the more enjoyable models in its segment.
Honda has announced that it will integrate support for Apple's Siri into its 2013 Honda Accord and Acura RDX and ILX models as a dealer installed option. Later this year, owners with an iPhone running iOS 6 can direct Siri to perform a number of specific tasks while they safely keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.

Cadillac CTS-V fans now have an opportunity to get behind the wheel of a CTS-V on the track. This month marked the public opening of the Cadillac V-Series Academy at Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, where enthusiasts can register for one- and two-day immersions to learn the finer points of high performance driving in the Cadillac CTS-V. The "playground" outside Las Vegas features more than four miles of racetrack and 125 feet of elevation change. The V-Series Academy at Spring Mountain curriculum will continuously challenge participants with a blend of car control exercises and on-track performance driving, tailored to explore the capabilities of Cadillac's V-Series family.
Jeep is hard at work on a replacement for the Jeep Liberty, with its replacement due to be unveiled at the upcoming 2013 New York Auto Show in March. According to Wards Auto, although the D-segment SUV is a direct replacement for the Liberty, Jeep may decide to revive the historic Cherokee nameplate in the US.
It's been a while since GM has released any info about the upcoming Chevy Cruze diesel, but according to GM Authority, GM will debut the 2014 Cruze diesel at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show next month. The Cruze diesel will officially be called the Eco-D and is expected to get a 2.0L diesel engine. GM hasn't announced the performance specs, but its engineers have set a goal of being able to travel 700 miles on the highway between fillups.
Kia is set to unveil the new Kia pro_cee'd GT and cee'd GT in Geneva, which according to Kia are "the brand's most performance-focused production cars ever." Ford, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz have signed a new three-way agreement to accelerate the commercialization of fuel cell electric vehicle technology with the goal to launch the world's first affordable, mass-market FCEVs as early as 2017. The goal of the collaboration is to jointly develop a common fuel cell electric vehicle system while reducing investment costs associated with the engineering of the technology.
Ford launched the Ford Focus Electric EV last year, but only managed to sell 685 units out of the 1,627 built. Since Ford now has almost 1,000 units on hand, Ford is offering some hefty discounts to move the electric version of the Ford Focus. Ford is now offering $10,750 off for customers who lease the Focus Electric for three years and $2,000 for those that buy it.
Now in its fourth model year, the 2014 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet gets new exterior colors and alloy wheels, but the best part is that the convertible crossover is now $2,545 cheaper and starts at $41,995. Two new exterior colors are offered: Midnight Garnet and Gun Metallic, along with carryover colors Super Black and Pearl White. The standard 20-inch split 5-spoke titanium finish aluminum-alloy wheels have also been redesigned.
BMW and Toyota are continuing their partnership that they started by signing a memorandum of understanding in June 2012. Now the two automakers are pursuing their strategic long-term cooperation in the field of sustainable mobility today by signing binding agreements aimed at long-term collaboration between the two companies for the joint development of a fuel cell system, joint development of architecture and components for a sports vehicle, and joint research and development of lightweight technologies. BMW and Toyota also signed a binding agreement to commence collaborative research on lithium-air batteries, a post-lithium-battery solution.

The 2013 Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid have received a five-star top vehicle safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Fusion and Fusion Hybrid received a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in NHTSA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) testing, which combines vehicle performance in frontal and side-impact crash tests and resistance to rollover.
Nissan continues to tweak and refine the GT-R supercar and for the 2014 model year the GT-R gets increased performance, higher levels of craftsmanship and an all-new optional Premium interior, which features hand-stitched Amber Red semi-aniline leather front seats. In addition, torque response at middle RPM range (4500～6000 rpm) and acceleration at high RPM's (above 6000 rpm) have been improved versus the 2013 GT-R.

Aston Martin has updated its four-door, the Rapide with a new name, more power and more features. The Aston Martin S replaces the Rapide and is now more refined than before and is powered by a 550 horsepower V12 engine.
Bentley is introducing a range of new luxury features to its flagship model, the Mulsanne, which make their debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. A new Comfort Specification, including comfort headrests, footrests and duck down filled loose cushions has also been introduced. An Entertainment Specification incorporates the latest in technological developments, with picnic tables designed for an iPad and wireless keyboard, with the cabin of the Mulsanne becoming a Wi-Fi Hotspot. The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid has officially arrived in select dealerships in California and New York. The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid is rated by the EPA at 115 MPGe in all electric mode, making it the most fuel-efficient sedan in America. It starts at $39,780 and buyers can also lease it for $429 a month.
The all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage made its North American debut today at the Salon International de l'auto de Montreal. Although the Mirage unveiled at the show is identical to the version sold in other markets, Mitsubishi the subcompact was unveiled without a name in Canada. It's not known if the Mirage name will be attached to the small Mitsubishi when it hits our shores this fall.
The first 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray - Vehicle Identification Number ending in 0001 - sold Saturday to businessman and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick for $1.05 million just days after it was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The money will go the College for Creative Studies, one of the world's premier institutions for industrial and transportation design. Corvette goes on sale later this year.

General Motors is taking a page out of Honda's book with a sooner than expected refresh for the Chevy Malibu. Sales of the Chevy Malibu have failed to meet expectations and with the arrival of stiff competition like the Fusion, Accord and Altima, the Malibu is often forgotten. General Motors hopes to fix this with a refreshed Malibu that will arrive by the third quarter of this year.
Subaru has just announced the pricing for the all-new 2014 Subaru Forester, which starts at $21,995. The 2014 Forester 2.5i model will be available in base, Premium, Limited and top-line Touring versions. Pricing for the Forester begins at $21,995 for the base model 2.5i with a six-speed manual transmission. The turbocharged Forester 2.0XT will be offered in the Premium and Touring versions, with the Premium trim offered at $27,995.

The 2013 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid now has an EPA-rated total range of up to 620 miles and the ability to drive up to 21 miles in electric-only mode, which is nearly triple the electric-only range of plug-in hybrids from Toyota and Honda. The Fusion Energi is rated at 108 MPGe city, 92 MPGe highway and 100 MPGe combined.

Nissan has unveiled the Resonance concept in Detroit, which previews Nissan's future crossover lineup. The Resonance concept features an open, airy architecture highlighted by a unique "floating" roof created through the use of the thin, steeply raked A-pillars, large full-length glass panel and flowing D-pillar design. Inside, the designers imagined what the future of first-class space travel might be: Welcoming yet exclusive and high-tech yet premium. The resulting "VIP lounge," with its light, buttery leather and premium-stitched seats, exudes genuine sophistication.
Nissan has announced that U.S. pricing for the new 2013 Nissan Leaf will start at $28,800 for the newly-added S grade, making it the lowest priced five-passenger electric vehicle sold in the US. Depending on location, some consumers may purchase the vehicle for as low as $18,800 with qualifying federal and state tax credits.

Toyota has revealed the Corolla Furia Concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which hints at the styling cues of the next-generation Corolla. According to Toyota, the concept represents an exterior styling study by Toyota designers, and it builds on the brand's product development priority to develop more dramatic, expressively designed vehicles.
Honda has unveiled the Urban SUV Concept, which is a preview of its new Fit-based crossover that is slated to launch in Japan by the end of 2013 and arrive in the US in 2014. "No one has had greater success with small cars than Honda, and this Urban SUV Concept will create new value in the growing small-SUV segment," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at American Honda. BMW has unveiled a new version of the 3 Series sedan for the US market, the 2013 320i sedan. The 320i sedan is powered by a 180-horsepower TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine and goes on sale in late-Spring 2013. The 320i sedan will be available either with rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive in the BMW 320i xDrive Sedan.
VW has brought the VW CrossBlue concept to the 2013 Detroit Auto Show to preview its upcoming six or seven passenger SUV. The concept is based on the MQB platform and has been designed primarily for the US and Canadian markets. It measures 196.3 inches long, 79.3 inches wide and 68.2 inches tall. The concept features a 2+2+2 layout, but VW will also offer a second row bench seat on the production version, which allow it to fit up to seven passengers.
Infiniti has officially unveiled the all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50 at the Detroit Auto Show. If you missed the news, the Q50 is the replacement for the G37 sedan. "This morning we are about to launch Infiniti on a bold new journey, a new Infiniti brand direction built on a foundation of our past and guided by a clear vision for the future," said de Nysschen. Jeep has announced the upgrades to the 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot models. The biggest news for the new model year is the introduction of a new six-speed automatic transmission, which should significantly reduce the noise, vibration and harshness from the previous models. The six-speed automatic can be mated to either a 158-horsepower 2.0L or 172 horsepower 2.4L engine. Both engines can also be mated to a five-speed manual.
The 2013 Cadillac ATS and Ram 1500 just received top honors at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. Tonight it finally happened! GM took the wraps off the all-new 2014 Chevy Corvette (C7) in Detroit. Not only is the 2014 Corvette all-new, but it now wears the iconic Stingray designation.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray is the most powerful standard model ever, with a 6.2L V8 that generates 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque. It reaches 0-60 in less than four seconds and achieves more than 1g in cornering grip. It is expected to be the most fuel-efficient Corvette, exceeding the EPA-estimated 26 mpg of the current model.
Here's another leaked photo of the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG, which is expected to be unveiled tonight in Detroit. The 2014 CLA is based on the A-Class hatchback, but gets styling that basically makes it a baby CLS. Lincoln has unveiled the Lincoln MKC concept, which is a preview of Lincoln's new small crossover and that is debuting this week at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The small luxury utility segment grew almost 60 percent in 2012 and more than 200 percent in the last four years, which is why it's part of Lincoln's future strategy.

Fiat is going to bring two new design concepts of the 500 to the 2013 Detroit Auto Show next week. The two concepts are meant to expand the appeal of the Fiat 500 Abarth and the Fiat 500 Turbo. The Fiat 500 Abarth "Tenebra" design concept displays unique Matte Grigio paint and special appointments including a roof-size Abarth scorpion logo, while the Fiat 500 "Cattiva" design concept is based on the 500 Turbo and features a sporty bi-color look and blacked-out appearance.

VW has unveiled the Passat Performance Concept, which will have its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show next week. VW says that the concept is "an exercise to hint at Volkswagen's efforts to explore this practical four-door's sportier side." The Passat Performance Concept features a dual exhaust, 19-inch "Luxor" alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights including Advanced Front Lighting System (AFS) and LED taillights and carbon applications on its mirror caps. Inside, carbon-like touches dominate the dashboard, matching the carbon-style inserts on two-color leather seating surfaces and complementing the black headliner and side pillars. A lowered sport suspension and electro-mechanical steering enhance the handling.
Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne, SRT Brand President and CEO Ralph Gilles, and employees of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant presented 2013 SRT Viper #001 to owner Scott Thomas during a ceremony at the plant today to celebrate the start of production. Thomas purchased the first production Viper for $300,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County, CA Auction in June 2012, with the proceeds benefiting the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
The Mercedes-Benz CLS is based on the E-Class, so it makes sense that the 2014 CLS 63 AMG get the same upgrades as the E63 AMG. What that means is that the CLS 63 AMG is also gets avaialable all-wheel-drive and the more powerful S-Model, which generates 577 horsepower from its 5.5L V8, up from 550 horsepower in the standard CLS63 AMG. The 2014 CLS 63 AMG S-Model accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. In addition to the increase in output, this special edge for the S-Model is also attributable in no small part to the performance-oriented all-wheel drive with a power distribution ratio of 33 to 67 percent (front/rear axle).
In addition to the new 2014 Accord plug-in hybrid, Honda is also going to release a standard Accord hybrid that will arrive this fall. Honda has announced plans to invest $23 million and hire approximately 50 new associates at its Marysville, Ohio auto plant to add production of the new two-motor Accord hybrid sedan. This will be the third hybrid model built by Honda in America and the first in Ohio. Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC in Greensburg, Indiana was the first Honda plant in North America to build a hybrid vehicle, and currently produces both the Civic Hybrid and Acura ILX Hybrid models.
Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, which gets a refreshed exterior, all-wheel-drive and a new S-Model. The E63 AMG is still available in sedan and wagon versions and is powered by a 5.5-liter AMG V8 Biturbo with 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft. of torque that is mated to a seven-speed automatic. The new S model bumps the power figures up to 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes-Benz has also announced that the CLS63 is also available as an S model.
Nissan has released a teaser of its new Resonance Concept that is going to debut next week at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. Nissan hasn't released any details about the concept other than this statement: "The Resonance is the latest in a series of envelope-pushing crossover designs from Nissan, fusing bold, breakthrough styling with hybrid-electric powertrain technology."
Spring will be here before you know it and the Range Rover Evoque is getting ready for it with the Sicilian Yellow Limited Edition model, which is making its debut at the Brussels Motor Show. Based on the 2013 Evoque Dynamic Plus, the Limited Edition sports a number of unique features giving it a truly striking appearance. Orders are being taken now with deliveries beginning in May.
Last year was a great year for Jeep as it recorded global sales of 701,626 units, setting a new, all-time high - bettering the brand's previous high of 675,494 units sold in 1999. Last year Jeep vehicle sales increased 19 percent globally and 13 percent in the United States with a total 474,131 units sold.
That was fast! The first round of photos just leaked and now Lexus has officially released a set of photos and information about the all-new 2014 Lexus IS sedan, in F-Sport trim. The 2014 Lexus IS will debut next week on January 15 at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The all-new IS model range will include IS 250, IS 350, and the first IS to feature Lexus Hybrid Drive, the IS 300h, which will be available in Europe, Japan and other international markets. F SPORT models will be available across the full range. Today, Lexus released photos of the all-new IS 250/350 F Sport.
What we have here is our first look at the all-new 2014 Lexus IS, in F Sport trim. The 2014 IS will borrow many styling cues from the Lexus LF-CC concept that was unveiled in September. The F-Sport version adds a body kit, different wheels, a lower suspension and a sportier interior. If you are turned off by the face of the IS you see in these pics, you'll be happy to know that the non-F-Sport models will be toned down a bit.
Nissan has unveiled the updates to the 2013 Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, which is now entering its third model year. The changes to the Leaf include improved efficiency, reduced charging times, more features and a new cheaper entry-level S trim model.
Chrysler wants to hold the title of building the most capable trucks and has released the class-leading towing and weight ratings for its 2013 line of Ram Heavy Duty pickups and Chassis Cab trucks. The Ram 3500 Heavy Duty pickup will claim a 30,000-pound trailer capacity thanks to a new class-exclusive 50,000 pounds-per-square-inch, high-strength steel frame, improved transfer case, higher-load transmission and an upgraded 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine with 850 lb.-ft. of torque.
Next week Mercedes-Benz will unveil the refreshed 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup. The official specs haven't been released, but it will be offered in a new 4Matic version (all-wheel-drive).
Lexus is going to unveil the all-new 2014 Lexus IS next week in Detroit. Lexus has also just announced that the new 2014 IS is going to offer subscription-free, real-time traffic and weather information on its integrated audio systems. Lexus has partnered with iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of HD Radio Technology to integrate the technology. The all-new Lexus IS will be the first Lexus vehicle to feature this technology when it arrives in dealerships this summer.
We're just a week away from the official unveiling of GM's latest electrified vehicle, the 2014 Cadillac ELR. The Cadillac ELR electric vehicle with extended range borrows its powertrain from the Chevy Volt. Although Chrysler has yet to unveil an SRT version of the new Dodge Dart, Chrysler has just unveiled the 2013 Dodge Dart GT, that is powered by a 184-hp 2.4L engine and starts at $20,995. The Dodge Dart GT gets its name from the sporty Dart GT model that originally made its debut in 1963 and offered drivers enhanced performance and style, including a heavy-duty suspension that delivered improved ride and handling characteristics.
Audi has announced that it will be bringing the 2014 Audi SQ5 to the Detroit Auto Show next week. Unlike the SQ5 that is sold in Europe and powered by a diesel engine, the 2014 SQ5 that we will see at the show next week will be powered by a 3.0L gas engine with 354 horsepower and 347 lb-ft. of torque. It reaches 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
Nissan has previewed the models that it will present at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2013, which kicks off on January 11. We're only a week away from the kick off of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. All of the automakers have been releasing teasers and photos of what we can expect at the show. Hyundai has just released a teaser photo of its new HCD-14 concept vehicle that will debut at the show. According to Hyundai, the HCD-14 concept will give the automotive world a glimpse into future Hyundai premium vehicle design, advanced 3-D gesture-based technology controls, and spirited driving dynamics.
Chrysler has announced an industry first navigation system that can be activated by dealers. Buyers that choose to not buy the navigation option at the time they purchase their new Chrysler now have the option of adding it later. Chrysler dealers can activate navigation functions in vehicles equipped with certain Uconnect systems. "Sometimes customers don't realize what they want until they need it," says Marios Zenios, Vice President-Uconnect Systems and Services. "That's fine. We can help. With dealer-activated navigation, we are adopting a 'no-customer-left-behind' attitude."
The 2013 Fiat 500e electric vehicle is slated to arrive in the second quarter of this year. Fiat has just announced that the Fiat 500e has an EPA rating of 108 MPGe on the highway, 122 MPGe rating in the city and a 116 MPGe combined rating. Its highway rating is higher than other electric models like the Honda Fit EV and Nissan Leaf, but the Fit EV has a higher combined and city rating.

Mercedes-Benz has already unveiled the restyled 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan, but now we have the first photos of the coupe and cabriolet versions. Just like the sedan, the coupe and cabriolet versions get a new front fascia with new headlights that contain all the functional elements in one lens. Flowing light elements ensure that the "four-eye" look typical of the E-Class is retained. Outback the new E-Class retains the same rear fenders, but gets new taillights and a wide rear bumper with a chrome trim element.
Audi is going to use the upcoming Detroit Auto Show for the US debut of the 2014 Audi R8 and RS5 Cabriolet models. Mazda has announced all the pricing details for the 2014 Mazda6, which is on sale now and starts at $20,880. The 2014 Mazda6 is powered by a 184-horsepower SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine, which can be paired with a choice of transmissions: the SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission or SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic. It gets up to 25 city/37 highway/29 combined MPG when equipped with the standard manual transmission and 26 city/38 highway/30 combined with the automatic transmission.
This morning General Motors is stating that it is the first U.S. automaker to sell more than 1 million vehicles in its home market in a single year that have an EPA-estimated 30 mpg or better on the highway rating. "Our investments in advanced powertrains are clearly paying off, and our smaller vehicles are resonating with customers," said Mark Reuss, president of GM North America. "In 2013, we'll introduce new diesel, eAssist and plug-in vehicles in the United States and expand the availability of turbocharged four-cylinder engines. This will give us the most technologically diverse range of fuel-efficient cars and crossovers in the industry."

Kia has announced that it is working with Google to provide content and search-based solutions enabled by Application Program Interfaces (APIs) for the second-generation of the automaker's UVO eServices telematics system. These new solutions will initially be introduced on the new 2014 Sorento. The immediate integration of Google solutions will utilize Google Maps and Google Places to acquire driving directions and locate Points of Interest (POIs).
For the second year in a row Ford has topped 2 million sales in the U.S. Ford was also the only brand to break the 2 million sales mark in 2012. Following Ford's lead is Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai. In addition, Ford is only automaker with three vehicle nameplates in the global top 10 - Focus at number 1, F-Series at number 4 and Fiesta at number 5.
Avis Budget Group and Zipcar have announced that Avis Budget Group has agreed to acquire Zipcar for $12.25 per share in cash, a 49% premium over the closing price on December 31, 2012, which is approximately $500 million. The transaction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2013.
Bentley has officially taken the wraps off the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible ahead of its debut at the Detroit Auto Show later this month.
