October 2007 Archives
The Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept didn't exactly receive the best reviews, so Honda decided to go back to the drawing board. Honda has already announced that the official launch of Acura in Japan has been pushed back two years and the expected launch of the next NSX has been pushed back to 2011. Well now it is being rumored that Honda may surprise everyone with a revised NSX concept at the Tokyo Auto Show.
Well today has been a fun day. This morning Motor Authority posted a scanned photo of the next issue of Motor Trend which has the all-new GT-R on the cover. Motor Trend is now requesting that those photos be taken down (see my previous post). AutoWeek also decided to post photos of the car, which you will have to check out on your own. Now Inside Line has jumped on the bandwagon and released their own official photos of the car.
SORRY GUYS! Motor Trend decided that we can't show you the cover of the new issue even though some of you already have the hard copy. Inside Line released some more photos of the car so read the more recent post.
Although we are still only in October, some Motor Trend subscribers have already started to receive the December issue of Motor Trend. Gracing the cover of the issue is the much anticipated all-new 2008 Nissan GT-R.
The upcoming 2008/2009 Dodge Challenger has been incredibly popular thanks to the camera phone. Even the great Brenda Priddy hasn't managed to produce as many photos as all the guys running around with their camera phones. Now we have the first photos of the production version thanks to another guy who just happened to have his phone handy.
Would you really do this just to drive the Toyota RAV-4?
The MINI Clubman is the big news for MINI this year (pictured above), but MINI has something else in the works. We've already discussed earlier this year the possibility of a new MINI SUV (or SAV as BMW likes to label their crossovers) as the fourth MINI model. Well now more details on the upcoming MINI SAV have surfaced.
It's obvious that Toyota isn't happy that the Honda CR-V is the best selling SUV and crossover in the US. Although the RAV-4 offers three rows of seats and an available V6 engine it still isn't selling better than the CR-V. This is the what the revised RAV-4 looks like in Japan, so I wonder if this is what we will get here as well?
Yesterday Chrysler announced a recall of 77,000 Chrysler Sebring Convertibles and Dodge Avenger sedans due to door latch problems. 2008 Avenger sedans are also being recalled due to faulty fuel tank retention straps that could break and cause fuel to leak out. Now Chrysler has announced that 102,000 Avengers and Sebrings can catch on fire if the fan motor comes in contact with engine coolant.
Chris Doane (Brenda Priddy) has caught the upcoming 2009 Acura TSX being tested right outside of Honda's facility in the US. The new car is only slightly larger than the current TSX, but the big news is the addition of more power under the hood.
It seems that the US always gets screwed compared to the models that Europe and Japan get. This includes diesel vehicles which are finally starting to make a comeback here. By 2009 many of the world's largest automakers will start selling their "clean" diesels in the US and you can now add BMW to that growing list.
