Volkswagen has already given us a preview of three of its next-generation electric cars, but it isn’t stopping there. VW has now confirmed that an electric flagship sedan concept under the I.D. family is going to debut early next year at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
“MEB is quite flexible and you will be probably be surprised. It’s an improved body concept, we also did some customer clinics on that and it was quite successful, so we decided to go on this way, so let’s see in Geneva.”
Dr. Frank Welsche, Volkswagen’s director of development revealed to Motoring that the new electric sedan concept will hint at a future flagship electric sedan for the brand.
“We definitely do not give up the area, and you could imagine an all-electric flagship. Better, we are going to have [one], we should discuss that in Geneva next year,” Welsche stated.
The concept will preview the largest model that will be built on VW’s new MEB platform that’s being used for all its new electric cars, like the I.D. Buzz and I.D. Crozz.
It’s not known yet which markets will get the electric flagship sedan.
