Volvo teases V40 And XC40 Concepts ahead of their debut this month

Volvo is working on a new S40, V40 and XC40, which will be previewed later this month with the debut of the V40 and XC40 concepts.

Now that Volvo has released the all-new XC90, S90 and V90 models, the automaker is focusing at the other end of its lineup with the new 40-Series compact models. Volvo is working on a new S40, V40 and XC40, which will be previewed later this month with the debut of the V40 and XC40 concepts.
Volvo has released teasers of the concepts, which will debut next week at Volvo’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, on May 18. From this teaser, we can see that Volvo’s C-segment models will feature Volvo’s “Thor’s Hammer” LED running lights. All three models will ride on a new platform, that has been co-developed with Chinese owner Geely.

Under the hood, the powertrains will range from three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines, to a plug-in hybrid and maybe even a fully-electric powertrain. Volvo hasn’t announced which model will be released first, but it’s expected that the first model to debut will be the XC40 crossover, followed by the V40 hatchback and lastly the S40 sedan.
