The Model 3 is the fourth model in Tesla’s growing lineup. It takes styling cues from the Model S and Model X, but puts them in a smaller package. Unlike the Model X, the Model 3 is not based on the same platform as the Model S. It gets a unique electric powertrain and a smaller battery. Tesla hasn’t released the specs for the battery, but it will give the Model 3 a driving range a driving range of at least 215 miles. It’s likely that when the Model 3 arrives, it’s driving range will be longer, since the battery technology continues to improve.

Inside the Model 3 will have room for up to five passengers and just like the Model S, it will have a trunk in the front and back.

Other than that, Tesla hasn’t released any other specific details about the Model 3. Tesla has already received over 115k orders and although production is expected to begin by the end of 2017, most buyers will likely have to wait until 2018 until they get theirs. Pricing is still expected to start at $35k before the available tax incentives.
