Ever since the MINI Rocketman concept debuted back in 2011, there have been off and on-again reports about a production version. While it’s unlikely that a traditional gas powered version will ever enter production, MINI is reportedly throwing around the idea of a fully electric version.
At a mere 126 inches long, it may be difficult for the automaker to fit one of its current three- or four-cylinder engines under the the Rocketman’s small hood. But an electric version could be another option, since electric motors are smaller than combustion engines. The rise of electric cars could also help MINI make the case to produce it.
