We’ve already learned that the ELR electric coupe’s days are numbered and now Cadillac’s boss has revealed that the XTS will also not be replaced.
Cadillac has lots of changes in the works, which started this week with the debut of its new flagship sedan, the 2016 CT6. Cadillac’s Johan de Nysschen has confirmed that a few models won’t be replaced as Cadillac revamps its entire lineup. We’ve already learned that the ELR electric coupe’s days are numbered and now Cadillac’s boss has revealed that the XTS will also not be replaced.
Cadillac wants to better align its product lineup to compete with its German rivals, which means that some models will be phased out at the end of their life cycles. “As we move into the future refining our sedan portfolio, there will be no direct successor to the CTS. There will be no direct successor to the ATS. There is no point to renaming those cars because in the future those cars will disappear,” Johan de Nysschen stated at an event for the CT6.

Concerning the XTS, he stated, “Ultimately, a car like XTS when it reaches the end of its lifecycle, will not be replaced.”
