In an effort to catch up to rivals like Tesla and BMW, Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler has announced that Audi will release two fully electric vehicles by 2018.
Stadler recently told German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) that Audi is working on an electric sports car and a sports activity vehicle. The sports car is the e-tron version of the R8, but it’s not known what the SAV will be. Stadler also revealed that the SAV will have a driving range of more than 310 miles.

A report earlier this year stated that the SAV will be an all-electric version of the upcoming Q8. If the report is accurate, the Q8 e-tron will borrow its powertrain from the R8 e-tron.
