Subaru is the latest automaker to get the top safety rating from the IIHS, since both the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and the restyled 2018 Subaru WRX have earned the Top Safety Pick+ rating. As long as you check the box for the optional EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, you’ll get the top rating.

The 2018 Crosstrek and WRX received the Top Safety Pick+ rating, since both vehicles received a “Good” rating in the front small overlap, front moderate overlap, side impact, roof crush, and rear impact tests. Plus EyeSight received a “Superior” rating in the Institute’s front crash prevention testing. The Crosstrek and WRX join the Forester, Impreza, Legacy and Outback, which have also received the top safety rating.

“Subaru is committed to developing the highest safety standards for our vehicles,” said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc., “and receiving the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for all our 2018 models equipped with EyeSight and LED Steering Responsive Headlights proves this commitment to our customers.”
