Spy photographers recently caught what looked like a more coupe-like version of the Porsche Cayenne, but Porsche is now saying that it hasn’t decided if it will build a Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

This week we saw the debut of the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but Porsche could take the SUV even further with a “coupe” version that would rival the BMW X6. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume confirmed at the show that Porsche hasn’t made a final decision about the model, even though its design boss Michael Mauer has already revealed that it’s already on the drawing board.

“As a design department, we’re always asked to come up with proposals,” Mauer Autocar. “This is the most attractive part of the job: when the brand asks me to provide design ideas to visualize the product portfolio with no limitations of budgets. For each and every model, we have a lot of ideas. But there has to be a business plan. Yes, we’ve developed a lot of ideas.”

There’s no word when a decision will be made. “We analyze different segments and this can be an option in the future,” stated Blume. “Today, no decision has been taken. We have to make a calculation and talk to our customers.”
