It’s doubtful that many people have ever asked for wagon with almost 700 horsepower, but if you’re one of the few, Porsche has your wagon. The 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is a plug-in hybrid with 680 horsepower.
With a 550 horsepower 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 mated to a 136 horsepower electric motor, this is definitely not your Mom’s wagon. The plug-in hybrid powertrain generates a total 680 horsepower and 626 lb-ft. of torque, making it one of the most powerful vehicles that Porsche has ever produced.
The V8 and electric motor send the power to the ground via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo can reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds. It’s top speed is set at 192 mph and you can also drive it up to 30 miles in electric mode.
A 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the electric motor and takes 12 hours to fully charge using a 120-volt outlet, but less than three hours with a 240-volt charger.
Pricing for the 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo starts at $189,450 including the destination fees. You can order it now, but the first deliveries won’t happen until next spring.
