Porsche has unveiled the 2018 Porsche 911 T, which is inspired by the puristic 1968 911 T. This special 911 does away with several features to drop a few pounds and also comes standard with a manual transmission and a mechanical rear differential lock.

Based on the standard 911 Carrera Coupe, the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T features a PASM Sport Suspension that lowers it 10 mm, rear-axle steering, a shortened gear lever with an embossed shift pattern in red, and seat centers made of Sport-Tex material. The rear window and rear side windows are made of lightweight glass and even the sound insulation has been reduced to make the 911 Carrera T the lightest 911 available at only 3,142 pounds.

There are a few exterior upgrades, like a new front lip spoiler, Agate Grey exterior mirrors and 20-inch wheels painted in Titanium Grey. 911 T badges have been added to the rear decklid as well as the Sport Exhaust System with black exhaust tips. The 911 T is available in Lava Orange, Black, Guards Red, Racing Yellow, White and Miami Blue as well as the metallic colors Carrera White, Jet Black and GT Silver are available.

Inside the seats feature seat centers in Sport-Tex and the headrests have an embroidered 911 logo. The rear seats can also be deleted when you order the optional Full Bucket Seats. To cut weight the conventional door openers have been replaced by door opener loops.

Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L flat-six engine that generates 370 horsepower and 339 lb-ft. of torque. The 911 Carrera T reaches 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, 0.1 second quicker than the standard 911 Carrera. The manual version has a top speed of 182 mph. With the optional PDK transmission, the 911 Carrera T reaches 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and has a top track speed of 180 mph.

Pricing for the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T starts at $103,150 with the destination fees. The 911 Carrera T will arrive in March 2018.
