Nissan has already confirmed plans to introduce a second version of the Leaf electric car that will have a longer driving range. Earlier this month it was reported that Nissan is going to reveal it next month at CES and now Nissan has basically confirmed it.

2018 Nissan Leaf

Nissan has announced everything that it’s bringing to next month’s Consumer Electronics Show, including the IMx KURO concept and Leaf Nismo RC racer. In the same announcement, Nissan also stated that plans a new vehicle introduction at CES, which will more than likely be the Leaf E-Plus.

The 2019 Leaf E-Plus features a larger 60 kWh lithium-ion than the standard leaf, which should give it a driving range around 225 miles, compared to only 150 miles in the standard Leaf. The 2019 Nissan Leaf E-Plus will also have a more powerful electric motor with around 200 horsepower compared to the 150 horsepower the standard Leaf has.

Stay tuned.
