As it was rumored last week, VW has officially changed the Rabbit name once again back to the Golf for the U.S. market.
2009 will be the last year that VW’s popular hatchback will be called the Rabbit. For the 2010 model year the Golf name will return on an all-new model.

The 6th generation Golf will have its U.S. debut at the New York Auto Show and be on sale this fall.

The new Golf had its world unveil at the Geneva Motor Show in February. The sixth generation Golf has been significantly redesigned and demonstrates Volkswagen’s product strategy to refine the brand in all model lines. The Golf will have its U.S. debut at the 2009 New York International Auto Show. The Golf will go on sale in the fall of 2009.
