Earlier this year VW unveiled the CrossBlue crossover concept at the Detroit Auto Show. Although it was labeled as a concept, the CrossBlue concept previewed a new three-row crossover from VW. VW still has yet to make a final decision if the crossover will be produced at its Chattanooga, TN plant, but a decision is reportedly going to happen by the end of the year.

The new three-row crossover will only be slightly larger than the current Touareg, but due to different packaging it will be able to have enough room for seven passengers. Frank Fischer, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations stated, “No decision has been made yet. My team is working hard to get this as a second vehicle.”

Either way VW CEO Martin Winterkorn stated last month that VW has committed to bringing the new crossover to the US market.
