Volvo's R Performance Brand May Make a Return With the R-Line Sports Package

Earlier this year, Volvo announced that they were going to discontinue the remaining “R” badged vehicles in their lineup, due to slow sales. Now there are rumors that Volvo is going to release a performance package for the new S40 and V50 models.

The new performance package will be similar to Audi’s S-line package and will be called the R-Line. Cosmetic upgrades and suspension upgrades are part of the package. A unique interior trim may also be offered.

The automaker may also be working on performance versions of the upcoming C30 and a turbo V8 for the S80 flagship.
