Volvo's Next New Vehicle Will be the XC60 SUV…The S60 Will Have to Wait

Volvo’s next new vehicle after the upcoming C30, will be a production version of the XC60 concept that was shown at the Detroit Auto Show last January. It is rumored that the production version could be unveiled at the upcoming 2008 Detroit Auto Show.

The new XC60 has taken priority over the replacement for the S60 sedan. Volvo wants to bring its new small SUV to market quickly to compete against the BMW x3, upcoming Audi Q5 and the Acura RDX. The new S60, which will be built on the same platform as the S80 will go on sale at the end of 2008 at the earliest.
