VW has plans to debut eight new models at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September one of which will be a new rear-engined car for developing markets like the original VW Bug.

The recently revealed Tiguan SUV, a prototype of VW’s upcoming rear-engine city car and six BlueMotion diesels will all be in attendance. We’ve already seen several photos of the new Tiguan SUV, but VW has been tight-lipped on the details of their new city car. The only details that we do know about the car are that it will be called the City Expert and will have a flat-four “boxer” engine mounted in the rear of the car.
