Toyota is going to launch an electric-powered version of the RAV4 in early 2012, but unfortunately it is not going to be sold to the general US public, according to Toyota’s national business planning manager of advanced vehicle marketing, Geri Yoza.

The RAV4 EV is only going to be offered to fleet customers and car sharing programs.

The RAV4 EV is powered by a Tesla electric system, which includes the battery, electric motor, transmission and software. The RAV4 EV also gets unique front and rear fascias, 18″ wheels and comes exclusively in pearl white.
