Land Rover has confirmed plans to unveil a new hybrid version of the new Range Rover Sport this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new hybrid version of the Range Rover Sport will be powered by a diesel-hybrid powertrain.
Chief Program Engineer for the Range Rover Sport, Stuart Frith, unveiled the future plans, including plans to unveil a diesel powered Sport and eventually even a four-cylinder version. The Range Rover Sport hybrid will be powered by a 3.0L diesel engine that will be mated to an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
