It’s being reported that Porsche will unveil its newest SUV, the Macan at this year’s LA Auto Show in November. The Macan shares its platform with the Audi Q5, but the Macan uses more aluminum components, leading to a significant weight savings over the Q5.
The Macan will be offered with only all-wheel-drive and at launch will most likely feature a range of six-cylinder engines. A four-cylinder, a more powerful S model and a hybrid version will also eventually be offered.
An insider told Auto Express that the Macan will have a price tag around 36,000 pounds when it is released, which means it will likely start in the low $40k range here in the US.
