Porsche has announced that Automobile Magazine has named the 2013 Porsche Boxster its “Design of the Year” award.
“With this Boxster, Porsche design chief Michael Mauer has brought the Porsche design team into a realm it has never before occupied, with pure style and pure functionality fused in products of exceptional elegance,” said Robert Cumberford, design editor of AUTOMOBILE Magazine.

The 2013 Porsche Boxster a wholly-redesigned body and chassis. With a longer wheelbase, larger wheels and a new interior concept, the mid-engine sports car takes design cues from the Carrera GT and 550 Spyder models from its lineage.

The Boxster was also recently named Esquire’s Sports Car of the Year.
