Ford is planning an onslaught of new models next year, which includes the refreshed Taurus, a new Escape and an all-new Fusion.

The all-new 2013 Ford Fusion is expected to enter production early next year, on a new platform that’s referred to as CD4. Ford expects a huge sales increase for the next Fusion, with sales in North America increasing by up to 50 percent.

Details are scarce for what we can expect from the next Fusion, but according to a source that spoke with Ford Inside News, the next Fusion Hybrid is expected to get around 47 to 48 mpg in the city.

The Fusion’s brother, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ has been delayed until the second half of 2012.
