Mulally Announces That a New Ford Taurus Will Debut Next Year

According to Ford CEO Alan Mulally, a redesigned Ford Taurus will be introduced next year.

Mulally: “The new Taurus is the one we should have made originally.”

The current Ford Taurus, which was a refresh of the slow selling Ford Five-Hundred has failed to meet expectations. Ford addressed many of the issues the Five-Hundred had, except for the overly bland styling. The styling changes that Ford applied to the new model have not attracted the audience Ford was looking for. The new Taurus should address these issues.

In addition to the new styling the new Ford Taurus will also feature versions of Ford’s new turbocharged EcoBoost engines.

Mulally also stated that Ford is going to unify its products worldwide. The next Focus will eventually become the same size as the Focus in Europe. Let’s hope that means it will finally get a new platform.
