Mitsubishi has released a teaser photo of the new Ground Tourer concept that it’s going to reveal at the 2016 Paris Motor Show this fall. According to Mitsubishi, the Ground Tourer concept features four powerful elements: Augmented Possibilities, Functional Beauty, Solid Thrust and Japanese Craftsmanship.

Under the skin, the Ground Tourer concept is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The up-market SUV may preview a larger SUV that, but we’ll have to see if Mitsubishi actually sells it in the U.S. Following Mitsubishi’s latest fuel economy scandal in Japan, it remains to be seen if Mitsubishi will be able to survive in the U.S.
Either way, the Ground Tourer concept continues to show how important the crossover segment is for Mitsubishi.
