It’s being reported that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new coupe-like version of the GL SUV that would go head to head with the upcoming BMW X7 and Audi Q8, which are crossover coupes that are expected to arrive before the end of the decade. Autobild is reporting that the coupe version of the GL, dubbed the GLC would be a five-door crossover with a sleeker roofline than the current GL.
The GLC will be a much sportier take on the more family oriented GL with its sleek roofline and more aggressive styling. The GLC is expected to be about the same length as the current GL, but will be shorter and wider. The engine options are expected to be a range of six and eight-cylinder gas and diesel engines.

If the rumors are true we can expect to see the GLC sometime around 2016.
