Lexus has officially registered names for its upcoming IS Coupe, which provides more evidence that the automaker is finally going to release a coupe version of its smallest sedan.

Lexus registered the IS250C, IS300C and IS350C names with the US and Canadian patent and trademark offices. As you can tell from the name the coupe will get a “C” at the end of the existing sedan names. What is also interesting is the IS300C name, since the current IS sedan is only available as an IS250 or IS350. This means that the automaker must be working on a new mid-line model that will could have the same V6 engine as the GS300 that is sold in Japan.
