Honda CR-V Goes South

Sales of the new CR-V have been so high for the automaker, that they are going to start manufacturing the SUV at the Guadalajara plant in 2008. Currently the plant builds the Accord sedan, but it will be phased out and will start producing 50,000 CR-V’s annually.

The CR-V is also built in the East Liberty, Ohio plant. Half of the vehicles produced will be sold in Mexico and the other half will go to the U.S. and Latin America.

CR-V sales in the U.S. have increased 42% in the first two months of 2007.

Hopefully quality will not suffer.
