GM has announced that production of the next-generation Chevy Camaro will move from GM’s Oshawa, Ontario plant to its Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant in Lansing, Michigan.
GM has announced that production of the next-generation Chevy Camaro will move from GM’s Oshawa, Ontario plant to its Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant in Lansing, Michigan. According to GM, lower capital investment and improved production efficiencies were key factors in the business case. The Camaro is the only rear-wheel drive vehicle built at Oshawa. Assembling the next-generation Camaro at LGR consolidates the RWD assembly with the Cadillac CTS and ATS.
The next-generation Camaro is due sometime in 2014. The Oshawa plant currently produces the Buick Regal and the Cadillac XTS and next-generation 2014 Chevy Impala are going to be produced there as well.
