GM Confirms Chevy Cruze Diesel for the U.S. in 2013

GM has officially confirmed that it will offer a diesel version of the Chevy Cruze in the U.S. in 2013.

GM already sells diesel versions of the Cruze in Europe and Australia. GM has yet to confirm the specs of the diesel powered Cruze, but there have been rumors that it will be a 2.0L diesel with 147 horsepower and 235 lb-ft. of torque. There is a possibility that GM could offer a smaller even more fuel efficient diesel.

Currently the most fuel efficient Cruze, is the Cruze Eco that gets up to 42 mpg on the highway, there are rumors that the diesel powered Cruze will get around 50 mpg.
