Ford Delays the Launch of the All-New 2009 F-150

Gas prices have been killing truck sales. Last month the Ford F-Series lost its sales crown to not one, but four more fuel-efficient cars. Because of this Ford is delaying the launch of the all-new 2009 F-150.

Ford is going to delay the introduction of the new F-150 by two months (late fall) and continue to cut production in favor of more fuel-efficient models in Ford’s lineup. Ford announced yesterday plans to cut one of the F-Series shifts at the Kansas City plant and add a shift for more crossover production (Escape, Mariner, Tribute).

Ford has also revealed that its financial results are going to be worse this year than last year. Ford posted a $2.7 billion loss in 2007.
