Chrysler has dominated the minivan segment since the first minivan rolled off the production line in the early 1980’s, but the last two years Honda has had the best-selling minivan in the US with the Odyssey. It looks like that is about to change this year.

With only one more day left in 2010 sales of the Chrysler Town & Country are at 102,495, while Honda has only moved 98,035 Odysseys this year. Toyota has sold 89,509 Siennas and the other Chrysler minivan, the Dodge Grand Caravan has found 89,057 owners.

“Our goal is regaining leadership,” said Olivier Francois, head of the Chrysler brand. “We consider we own it and we need to regain what once belonged to us.”
