This month GM released the first details and photos of the upcoming Chevy Spark electric vehicle that is going to be released in 2013. GM announced that the Chevy Spark EV would be powered an electric motor and a nanophosphate lithium-ion battery pack, but no other specs were released.
GM has now announced that the electric motor will pack 114 horsepower.
“Electric motor development and manufacturing is another area of expertise we’ll need as we expand vehicle electrification technologies to address the needs of our customers around the world,” stated Larry Nitz, GM executive director of Vehicle Electrification Engineering.
The electric motor for the Spark will be produced at GM’s plan in White Marsh, Maryland.
