BMW is going to officially unwrap the i3 EV this month on July 29th. While we wait until the end of the month, BMW has released this teaser of the i3, which shows that the production version will remain pretty close to the concept. The production version is expected to get tweaks like new bumpers, headlights and updates to the rear doors.
The all-electric i3 will be powered by a 170 horsepower electric motor with a range around 90 miles. BMW will also offer a range extender version that will use a two-cylinder engine as a generator to increase the i3’s total range to under 200 miles. Pricing is expected to start around $40,000.
