BMW is going to unveil a new i Concept at the LA Auto Show next week. BMW hasn’t provided any details about the new i concept, other than stating, “the new BMW i Concept will join BMW i’s growing lineup of visionary concept vehicles which are purpose-built from the ground up as electric and hybrid electric and constructed primarily from lightweight carbon fiber.”
BMW is also going to bring the BMW i8 Concept Roadster to the show, which is an open-top version of the i8 Concept. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds on the way to an electronically governed top speed of 155 mph.
The first two models to be released under BMW’s new i brand will be the the BMW i3 and BMW i8, which will be released in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
