The upgraded i3 is going to get a new lithium-ion battery pack that will give it a driving range that is about 50 percent longer than the current i3. That means that we can expect the 2017 i3 to be able to drive around 120 miles. While that’s still not as far as the upcoming Chevy Bolt, it’s still a significant improvement that will give the i3 one of the longest driving ranges in its class. The upgraded i3 with the range extender should be able to get a bit closer to the 200 mile mark.

The 2017 i3 is going to arrive at some point this summer.
