According to the latest rumors and reports Aston Martin officials may be mulling the idea of producing cars outside of the UK for the first time in the company’s 93 year history.
Documents that were seen by the Financial Times reportedly show plans to outsource the production of a future sedan, most likely the new Rapide. Several European companies have already been contacted. Pininfarina, Karmann, Magna Steyr and Finland’s Valmet all in the running.
The Rapide four-door coupe is due out in late 2009 and due to the fact that Aston Martin’s Gaydon facility is already running near capacity means that there will not be any room for the new sedan.
