Subaru has unveiled the all-new 2014 Subaru Forester ahead of its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. The new Forester is about the same size as the outgoing model, but with more interior volume. It also gets a new exterior with styling cues that are shared with other Subaru models, like the Impreza.
The fourth-generation Forester will be offered with either a naturally-aspirated 2.5L four-cylinder engine or a new 2.0L turbocharged engine. The 2.5L boxer engine generates 170 horsepower and 174 lb-ft. of torque, while the 2.0L puts out 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. The 2.5L engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT, while the 2.0L is mated to a CVT with 6-speed and 8-speed manual modes and Hill Descent Control.
Inside the new Forester will have increased rear seat legroom and a larger cargo area. In-demand infotainment features will be offered, including smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera, and harman/kardon premium audio amplifier and speakers.
