The fourth-generation all-new 2012 Honda CR-V was just unveiled minutes ago in LA. After several spy photos and photo leaks, the CR-V that we saw at the show today wasn’t a big surprise. But nonetheless the CR-V is getting a complete redesign, that is more evolutionary than a drastic change like the 2013 Ford Escape.

The 2012 CR-V retains its five-passenger seating configuration and four-cylinder engine. The CR-V is powered by the same 2.4L engine as the outgoing model, but it now puts out 185 horsepower and 163 lb-ft. of torque. The four-cylinder is mated to a standard five-speed automatic. Honda claims that the 2012 CR-V will get 23 city, 31 highway and a combined rating fuel economy rating of 26 mpg, an increase of +2/+3/+2 mpg compared to the 2011 CR-V.

All CR-V models will come standard with an “easy fold down” rear seat, Bluetooth and a rear view camera. The CR-V also gets new tech features like an SMS text messaging function, which can read received texts from compatible cell phones aloud over the audio system and Pandora internet radio.

Honda has yet to announce the pricing for the 2012 CR-V, but it will go on sale by the middle of next month.
